Turmeric benefits for skin

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory effect and its many antioxidants, it is versatile and can noticeably improve your complexion.

Turmeric is antiseptic and antibacterial and is therefore well suited to prevent acne. It works against pimples and impure skin and reduces sebum production, so that oily skin is calmed.

Try it with a simple scrub by mixing a few drops of water and lemon juice with turmeric powder. Apply the paste to the affected areas and let it work for 15 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water.

Turmeric can also be used as an exfoliator and can help particularly mature skin. Indian bridal couples go through a haldi ceremony in preparation for their marriage, which is supposed to make the skin glow.

By mixing turmeric in equal parts with chickpea flour and raw milk or water, a paste is created which is generously distributed on the skin. Let it dry and then wash it off with lukewarm water. For the right peeling effect, gently rub the homemade paste in circular hand movements.

The same mixture is also suitable for softening stretch marks and skin discoloration. Instead of raw milk or water, you can also use rose water or yogurt to vary the recipe.

If you still have some leftover, you can even use the mixture to prevent unwanted hair from growing back. The active ingredient curcumin can kill hair follicles, causing the hair to fall out at this point. Of course, this does not happen overnight, you will have to work with it patiently for about a month to achieve the desired effect.
