Autophagy. It’s a big mouthful right. It’s a huge word but when you break it down it becomes easy. Auto means self. Autophagy means to eat.
Autophagy (or autophagocytosis) is the natural, regulated mechanism of the cell that disassembles unnecessary or dysfunctional components. It allows the orderly degradation and recycling of cellular components.
The way I like to think about a Autophagy is I think of a little Pacman going into my body and eating up all of the junk all of the parts that are no longer needed that are inside of my cells and as it eats it up everything becomes healthier and happier and better.
I’m so excited to share this with you today because just in the past two weeks I’ve posted two of my favorite interviews that I’ve ever done and the first one was with the Nobel Prize winner of 2016 Dr Yau.
And what we’re gonna do today is we’re going to talk about the topic of the Autophagy but that video got such an amazing response that we got really excited.
