Superfoods are known to super charge your body and strengthen your immunity to fight disease causing germs. Recently the scientists discovered a few superfoods that can aid in fighting prostate cancer. Both pomegranate and broccoli have been proven to fight the cancer causing diseases, more specifically prostate cancer in men. Other superfoods that are good for your health are green tea and turmeric.
Trial study results:
After a six month trial study, the pioneering findings were discussed at the cancer conference held in Chicago. The study involved 203 subjects with prostate cancer, and it was shown that men taking a capsule containing essence of green tea, turmeric, pomegranate, and broccoli showed prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels 63% lower than the individuals who did not take the capsule.
The PSA level is an indicator of the prostate cancer. The men were split into two different groups – one part took the capsules and the other part took a placebo.
Superfoods rich in polyphenol:
Also known as polyphenol-rich foods, the superfoods diet comprising of green tea, pomegranate, turmeric and broccoli have been researched on before and several laboratory tests have confirmed their anti-cancer effects, however the small non-randomized studies that were conducted today resolutely established the influence of these superfoods on prostate cancer.
An oncologist consultant Professor Robert Thomas said that their experience in offering super quality clinical care in partnership with several cancer charities and international research centers has helped in providing these findings. Dr. Thomas further said that this will help millions of men fight away the beginning of prostate cancer.
Benefits of superfoods supplements:
Although healthy eating and leading a good lifestyle are the main ways through which you can battle the development of cancer, the use of superfoods supplements has also shown to have positive effects.
As there are no adverse effects of taking superfoods , it appears to be a safe and helpful way by which men can avoid the risk of having prostate cancer by including more of turmeric, green tea, pomegranate, and broccoli in their diet.
