What is the mother of all herbs?
Calendula is the mother of all herbs and its medicinal value makes it a great cure for skin diseases and other ailments. Lavender is another great herb used mainly for its antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Lemon balm, Yarrow, Peppermint, and German Chamomile are the other four herbs that are Olson’s favorite ingredients.
Still, she clings to these six favorite plants in her garden. “Besides
being all around beautiful, useful and easy to grow, these are all herbs
that belong in every family’s herbal toolbox,” she says.
